What we know about the Nashville school shooter

New details continue to emerge about the 28-year-old suspect accused of shooting dead three nine-year-old children and three staff members in a devastating mass shooting at a christian elementary school in Nashville on Monday morning.

Audrey Hale, a former student, allegedly entered The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, just after 10am.

Inside, the shooter opened fire on students and staff, killing six victims.

Students Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all aged nine, Head of School Katherine Koonce, 60, Cynthia Peak, 61, and Mike Hill, 61, all died in the attack.

Two responding police officers shot the suspect dead.

Outside firms investigating former CEO accused of abusing charity funds, policies – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

KETTERING — Kettering Health has issued a statement in response to allegations of abuse of charitable funds against former CEO Fred Manchur.

“We are—and have been—fully aware of allegations of inappropriate fiscal and operational management at Kettering Health. Our Board and leadership team take these allegations seriously and are committed to integrity, improvement, and upholding the trust of our staff, providers, and community,” the statement reads.

Kettering Health said to “ensure impartiality,” the board asked an outside firm to do an internal investigation into the allegations and another to recommend updates to their processes and policies.

King Charles grants Prince Edward Duke of Edinburgh title

Prince Edward has been named the new Duke of Edinburgh, taking his late father’s title.

A Buckingham Palace statement said Prince Edward will take on the title from today, 10 March, his 59th birthday.

His wife, Sophie, the former Countess of Wessex, is now the Duchess of Edinburgh and their 15-year-old son James, Viscount Severn is the new Earl of Wessex.

It comes as Buckingham Palace has officially updated the royal family’s website to reflect the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children’s new titles.

RICHMOND — Lawmakers introduced proposals to help improve standards at Virginia nursing homes and facilities, and to address the health care worker shortage exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Del. Bobby Orrock Sr., R-Caroline, introduced House Bill 1446, which would set minimum staffing requirements for certified nursing facilities. A nursing facility, which includes nursing homes, provides health-related services on a continuing basis, according to state code.

The measure passed the House on a nearly unanimous vote of 95-2 and was put in place in a finance committee after unanimously clearing a Senate health committee.
