UK insurer Aviva Plc said demand for private health care continued to surge as more individuals and companies look for alternatives to the National Health Service.

Private health insurance sales grew 25% in the first quarter, the UK based insurer said Thursday, following a 14% jump last year.

British patients have been increasingly turning to private options as the state-funded NHS struggles with mass strikes, budget constraints and extended waiting times.

Since the end of the Public Health Emergency and the unrolling of Medicaid, health insurance workers are already seeing an uptick in inquiries.

West Virginia Navigator provides free assistance to people in finding and selecting health care options through the Marketplace, Medicaid and CHIP.

The organization’s program director, Jeremy Smith, said the majority of the calls they receive are from people who have lost their Medicaid coverage.

House votes to override Gov. Burgum’s veto on the health insurance bill

(KXNET) — Governor Doug Burgum used his veto power to try and kill a plan relating to health insurance plans.

On Monday, House Bill 1416 was brought back, and lawmakers voted unanimously to override that veto.
